An envelope containing bullets was found outside Justice and Development Party (AK Party) headquarters in Ankara early on Thursday.
The envelope was left by two people who arrived at the scene by car, the license plate of which is still unknown, and fled immediately after a security guard spotted them. Noticing the envelope the pair left behind, the security guard contacted the police. An Ankara Police Department’s crime scene investigation team took the envelope, which was found to contain four bullets.Police teams have started an investigation into the incident while officers from the Ankara Police Department’s anti-terrorism unit began examining security camera footage.
In early January Judge Kadir Kayan and prosecutor Mustafa Bilgili, who were conducting a search at the Special Forces Command as part of a probe into a suspected military plot to assassinate Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, each received envelopes containing Kalashnikov bullets.
