The contest included five categories. BMR Tarım was chosen the best company in the creative products category. Nüve Sanayi came first for best performance in diversifying export markets. İskender Smokin received the e-exports award, while Trakya Tekstil was named the firm with the best export performance in 2009.
Speaking at the event, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) President Mehmet Büyükekşi congratulated Turkish export firms for having worked hard to contribute to Turkey’s economy despite the global financial crisis last year. Büyükekşi called on exporters to concentrate more on innovation and diversification of products to create world-known trademarks, underlining that this is the key to tightening their grip in different exports markets around the globe.
Foreign Trade Undersecretary Ahmet Yakıcı also emphasized the importance of innovation and more focus on R&D studies for an improvement in exports.
