Turkey has great role from Balkans to Central Asia, US ambassador

US Ambassador to Turkey James Jeffrey said on Tuesday that Turkey had a great role from Balkans to Central Asia, in Africa and especially Middle East.
Jeffrey and his wife paid a visit to Tarsus town of southern province of Mersin.
Replying to questions of reporters, Jeffrey said Turkish President Abdullah Gül was visiting India and Turkey was a very important country for this great region.
Turkey would keep playing a significant role in the Middle East, he said.
Answering a question on problems between Turkey and Israel, Jeffrey said the two countries have been trying to solve problems and such issues could take place in diplomacy.
