Consultation meeting of Turkey, Bosnia and Serbia to take place on Feb. 9

Tripartite consultation meetings of Turkey, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia will take place for the fifth time on February 9 in Ankara.

Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issued a statement and said Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, Bosnian Foreign Minister Sven Alkalaj and Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic are expected to review developments in the region and assess possible steps to be taken for the future at the meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will receive the three foreign ministers.

Davutoğlu, Alkalaj and Jeremic first met in Istanbul on October 10, 2009 to assess daily developments regarding Balkans and to contribute to the relations of Bosnia in international platform.

Second of the trilateral meetings had taken place on November 8, 2009 in Istanbul and the ministers agreed to meet regularly every month.

The three foreign ministers met in Sarajevo on December 14 and in Belgrade on January 15.

The ministry statement said Turkey gave high priority to Balkans in its foreign policy and attached importance to restoration of a lasting peace and stability in the region.
