According to data from the Automotive Distributers’ Association (ODD), 12,594 sedans were sold last month in Turkey. With a 44 percent share in overall sedan sales, C-segment (compact) sedans achieved the highest sales, followed by A-segment models (small hatchbacks), with a 32 percent share. According to body types, sedans were the most popular purchase with a 58 percent share in overall vehicle sales, followed by SUVs.
A total of 9,995 vehicles with engine sizes smaller than 1600 cc were sold in the first month of the year, accounting for 79 percent of total vehicles sold. In the same month 375 vehicles with engines larger than 2000 cc were sold, which is 3 percent of total sales.
January also saw sales of 7,501 light commercial vehicles, which is 16.6 percent higher than sales seen in the same month of 2009.
