Turkey chosen to host 2012 European meet

It’s official: Turkey will be hosting the 2012 European Weightlifting Championships.
The European Weightlifting Federation (EWF), in its executive board meeting on Wednesday, chose Turkey among three candidate countries to host the event. The Italian city of Palermo and the Spanish city of Valencia were the other candidates. Turkey Weightlifting Federation Chairman Hasan Akkuş told reporters that Turkey was chosen unanimously, adding that the Turkish southern province of Antalya would host the championships.
