29 January 2010 / REUTERS/AP, MIAMI
Miami Heat forward Michael Beasley hyper-extended his right knee during his team’s 111-103 NBA loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
The second-year player attempted to catch a lob in the first quarter but got tangled up with an opposing player and crashed to the ground writhing in pain. He returned in the second quarter but exited for good not long after and will be re-evaluated in Detroit where the Heat play today, the Miami Herald reported. In San Antonio, Texas, Tim Duncan posted 21 points and a career-high 27 rebounds to propel the struggling San Antonio Spurs to a 105-90 win over the Atlanta Hawks. San Antonio (26-18) had good balance with six players scoring in double figures, including Tony Parker who left the game with a sprained ankle in the third quarter and did not return.
