21 January 2010 / REUTERS, İSTANBUL
Turkish energy company Enerjisa, jointly owned by Sabancı Holding and Verbund, is targeting TL 3.4 billion lira in sales in 2010, its chairman said on Tuesday.

The company is targeting TL 300 million operating profit this year, up from TL 200 million profit last year. Enerjisa’s share in the electricity market is now 1.8 percent and the company sees this climbing above 10 percent in 2015, chairman Selahattin Hakman told reporters.

The company’s Bandırma power plant will start operating in 2010, contributing TL 250 million in profit, Hakman told reporters. The company sees Turkish electricity demand rising 4-5 percent in 2010 and 8 percent in 2011 as the economic recovery gains steam. Sales of power distributor Başkent Elektrik Dağıtım, a unit of Enerjisa, are seen at TL 2.2 billion in 2010, with the operating profit at TL 55 million, Hakman said.
