A 2-year-old girl who went missing in Bursa’s Karacabey district on Saturday was found dead yesterday after a 48-hour, wide-ranging search. The little girl, Ebru Çakaloğlu, was found in bushes about five kilometers from the village she lived in, and it is believed she froze to death. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
Living with her mother at her grandfather’s house in a village in Karacabey, the 2-year-old toddler disappeared from her home on Saturday afternoon after her mother went to visit neighbors.

Her mother, Pakize Çakaloğlu, notified the gendarmerie as soon as she discovered that her daughter was missing. Search-and-rescue and civil defense teams started a search around the village. A total of 13 teams comprising 120 people including residents of the village searched for the girl in and around the village.

Ebru’s parents have reportedly been living apart for three months. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
