“Lifeforce,” a 1985 sci-fi fantasy movie directed by Tobe Hooper, will be screened tonight at an admission-free screening at KargART in İstanbul’s Kadıköy district.
“Lifeforce” has almost become forgotten in the 25 years that passed since its original theatrical release, during which it performed poorly. The 101-minute film, whose screenplay is based on the 1976 novel “The Space Vampires” by Colin Wilson, follows the events that unfold after the crew of the space shuttle Churchill discovers a 150-mile-long spaceship hidden in the cone of Halley’s Comet.Tonight’s screening at KargART, located on the top floor of the Karga Bar in Kadıköy, is part of the “Midnight Movies” program, organized by film critic Serdar Kökçeoğlu in collaboration with Öteki Sinema, a Web site dedicated to cult films and b-movies. The showing starts at 11 p.m.
