12 January 2010 / THE ANATOLIA NEWS AGENCY, ANKARA
Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Çağlayan received Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, Victor Fung, and an accompanying delegation in Ankara on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Çağlayan said Turkey would continue its determination that trade activities should be carried out within the scope of international rules.

Çağlayan said credit note of more than 80 countries were degraded after global crisis, "credit note of only 13 countries was upgraded. Turkey is the only country that has recorded a two-grade increase in its rating," he noted.

"Many leading international rating organizations admit that Turkey would be one of the three most important actors in 2050," Çağlayan said.

Fung said world markets gradually entered a recovery process, noting that there were indications of a recovery in general sense.

Fung said they thought Turkey, which was an important member of the G-20, would enable voice of ICC to be heard in international markets better.
