Turkish Airlines (THY), which recently signed a sponsorship agreement with world-popular Spanish soccer team Barcelona, becoming the official carrier for the team, has delighted team members with the menu it offers the club during flights.
THY’s catering firm, Turkish Do&Co offers a special menu called “Team Only” for Barcelona, composed of traditional Turkish dishes such as cacık (a Turkish sauce made with yogurt, cucumber and mint), tavuk dürüm (chicken wrap), sütlaç (rice pudding) and zeytinyağlı (olive oil dishes made with seasonal produce). The menu was printed in three languages: Spanish, Turkish and Catalan. Atilla Doğudan, a top manager at Turkish Do&Co, said the catering firm had consulted the team’s dieticians when it prepared the menu and that the Barcelona team likes the menu. He said the menu includes non-fattening foods and some ingredients especially from Mediterranean cuisine. Doğudan also said they have changed the menu to offer not only Turkish food but also some Spanish cuisine.
