Davutoğlu meets King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who held talks in Saudi Arabia, met with King Abdullah bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Davutoğlu and King Abdullah discussed bilateral relations as well as developments in the Middle East and the world, diplomats said.

Davutoğlu explained Turkey's efforts regarding Iran's nuclear program and informed King Abdullah on Turkey's relations with Gulf countries.

King Abdullah said Turkey was a valuable country for Gulf countries and had a strong position in Saudi Arabia, diplomats said, adding that Turkey and Saudi Arabia had been working on a defense agreement.

King Abdullah and Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoğlu also discussed the rising Islamophobia in the West, and also the minaret ban in Switzerland, diplomats added.
