While Turkey’s total exports decreased by 28 percent in the first 10 months of the year compared to the same period of last year, exports to countries with which a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was signed increased by 10 percent despite the economic downturn.

According to data from the Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade (DTM), Turkey has signed FTAs with 26 countries so far, of which 12 are currently in effect and four are awaiting approval. Imports, on the other hand, soared by 299 percent during the same period, while the country’s total imports were up by 271 percent.
