Exporters expect 111 billion USD of exports in 2010

Turkish exporters aim at earning some 111 billion USD from exports in 2010.

Mehmet Büyükekşi, the chairperson of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), said exporters aimed at raising export income to 111 billion USD in 2010.

"2010 will be a recovery year, and we particularly attach importance to neighboring and surrounding countries," Büyükekşi told the Anatolia news agency.

Büyükekşi also underlined importance of the African, Latin American and Far Eastern markets.

Also, İsmail Gülle, the chairperson of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Assembly (ITHIB), said that the textile industry forecast some 15 percent rise in 2010.

Gülle said the textile industry might export products worth 6-6.5 billion USD at the end of 2010.

Turkey earned 83.1 billion USD from its exports in the first ten months of 2009.
