Güllüoğlu Baklava opened a shop in Brussels, its second in Europe, on Thursday. The first Güllüoğlu Baklava shop was opened in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
The Brussels shop opened with a ceremony attended by the president of the executive board of Güllüoğlu Baklava, Faruk Güllü, high-level Belgian bureaucrats and the Turkish consul general in Brussels, Mehmet Poroy. Güllüoğlu’s baklava, which is produced without using any artificial ingredients, is produced in Turkey and frozen and sent overseas; the baklava is heated in ovens before serving.Speaking at the ceremony, Güllü said their goal is to promote Turkish baklava all around the globe. “We are receiving letters from all corners of the world to open Güllüoğlu Baklava shops,” Güllü said. The company expects revenues of $5 million in 2010.
