One fisherman dead, another still missing after lake accident

Search-and-rescue teams yesterday found the body of one of two people who disappeared while fishing in İstanbul’s Küçükçekmece Lake.
Two fishermen reportedly sent out a distress signal on Wednesday night but soon disappeared. The Anatolia news agency reported that after receiving the distress signal, police teams began to search for the fishermen. Teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate and the coast guard later joined the search of the lake.
Emergency management teams participating in the search-and-rescue operation found the body of Nejat Yoldaş, 26, on Thursday. The search-and-rescue teams are continuing their search for Bülent Şimşek, the other fisherman. Coast guard helicopters have joined in the search for the fisherman.
