Three people taken into custody over espionage

Three people were taken into custody in İzmir by security forces on Wednesday over espionage, the Anatolia news agency has reported.

According to the reports, the three Turkish citizens, allegedly engaged in acts of espionage on behalf of a foreign country, were captured in an operation organized by the İzmir Police Department's Anti-Terrorism Unit.

The investigation continues.

Chief of Police Ercüment Yılmaz has said he will not provide any information on this matter for the time being.
