4 soccer fans die in auto accident

Four youths died in a car crash in Samsun early Monday on their way home from watching the Trabzon-Fenerbahçe soccer match.
The accident occurred around 4:20 a.m. yesterday in Samsun’s Tekkeköy district. The vehicle with the four youths, driven by Bünyamin Kahriman (24), crashed into a parked lorry after Kahriman lost control of the vehicle. Kahriman, Ahmet Muhammet Demirel (21) and Serhat Kırkayak (23) all died at the scene of the accident; their bodies were taken by ambulance to the Tekkeköy District State Hospital’s morgue. Mesut Keleş (19) died despite medical treatment at Samsun’s Mehmet Aydın Research and Teaching Hospital; the young man was a student in the communications department at Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ). An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
