Several journalists who joined the aid organization Kimse Yok Mu to volunteer in various countries during Eid al-Adha came together to share their experiences last week at the foundation’s Beyoğlu office.
Along with the charity’s volunteers, nearly 80 journalists from a variety of media organs joined Kimse Yok Mu affiliates in 36 countries and 50 cities in Turkey. They came together at a dinner to share their observations of the countries they visited during Eid al-Adha.

Speaking to the audience, Can Soysal, general coordinator of the state-sponsored TV channel for children TRT Çocuk, who spent his holiday in Peru with Kimse Yok Mu, stated that despite arriving in Peru after a long and tiring flight, the group overcame their exhaustion when they distributed meat to families in need. “I was very glad to be in Peru with Kimse Yok Mu. We distributed toys to children in the garden of the Peruvian Parliament with its speaker,” noted Soysal, who emphasized that the aid organization has contributed significantly to the promotion of Turkey’s image in distant countries. Mehmet Şeker from the Yeni Şafak daily underlined the importance of dialogue between cultures and thanked Kimse Yok Mu for giving him an opportunity to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina during the holiday, saying: “If I had not visited Sarajevo, I would not understand the pain that stems from the war. We must do more for Bosnia.” He also praised the efforts of Turkish schools in Sarajevo, adding that he had collected books to send to the libraries of Turkish schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
