Legendary Brazilian defender Roberto Carlos left İstanbul on Saturday for his home country after parting ways with Fenerbahçe.
“There are two things I feel today. I am sad because I am leaving Fenerbahçe, but I am very happy that I will continue my playing career in my own country. A new era has begun for me,” Roberto Carlos said before his departure from İstanbul’s Atatürk Airport. Roberto Carlos played his last game with Fenerbahçe on Thursday night, helping his team beat Moldova’s FC Sheriff 1-0 in their UEFA Europa League Group H match in Istanbul. Roberto Carlos, who with signed with Fenerbahçe from Real Madrid in 2007, recently revealed that he penned a two-year deal with Sao Paulo side, Corinthians.The defender scored 10 goals in 101 appearances for Fenerbahce.
