The second forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), held on April 6-7 in İstanbul, concluded that activities should focus heavily on regional strategies, resulting in plans for the meeting in Sarajevo. The representatives of 14 countries and other international organization are expected to attend.
The meeting is expected to adopt two documents: the Regional Strategy of the Alliance of Civilizations on Intercultural Dialogue and Cooperation among Southeast European Countries, and the Sarajevo Declaration. The statement also said the meeting will accelerate tangible projects planned for the future based primarily on the alliance’s regional strategies.
“Both as a regional country and as the co-chair of the alliance, Turkey provides important contributions with respect to building the alliance’s Southeast Europe strategy,” the statement reads. It also notes that Turkey attaches special importance to the strategy, which is in line with Turkey’s vision of cooperation, mutual respect and a desire to live together in peace.
