Various Kadıköy, Çağlayan roads to be closed on Sunday

Several roads in İstanbul will be closed to traffic on Sunday due to demonstrations to be held at Kadıköy and Çağlayan squares.
An announcement issued by the İstanbul Police Department reported that the Federation of Tunceli Associations (TUDEF) will hold a demonstration in Kadıköy, which will result in the closure of Rıhtım Street, all the roads from Altıyol Square to Rıhtım Street and all the alleyways from Söğütlüçeşme down to Kadıköy dock starting from 9 a.m. Taşköprü, Kışla, Orgeneral Şahap Gürler and Albay F. Sözdener streets will be closed if necessary. The TUDEF demonstration is being held to protest the Dersim Rebellion, a revolt in 1937 by the local Kurdish-Alevi population in the eastern Anatolian province of Tunceli, which was suppressed.

In Çağlayan, the İstanbul Association of Service Vehicle Managers (İSAROD) will organize an demonstration, which will close the neighboring roads, including Piyalepaşa Boulevard, Çağlayan Square, the roads between Memorial Bridge and Çağlayan Square, the roads between Okmeydanı and Piyalepaşa Boulevard, the roads between Gelin Street and Çağlayan Square, and part of Abide-i Hürriyet Street between İzzetpaşa Street and Çağlayan Square.
