11 December 2009 / THE ANATOLIA NEWS AGENCY, TIRANA
Turkish President Abdullah Gül said on Friday he was glad to see that Albania was a safe country for investments.

President Gül and Albanian President Bamir Topi attended the Turkish-Albanian Business Forum at Sheraton Hotel in Albanian capital of Tirana.

Delivering a speech in the business forum, Gül said Turkish businessmen accompanying Gül in his visit to Albania were eager to make business in this country.

Gül said the Albanian government exerted great efforts to attract foreign investments.

"Albania is an important strategic partner of Turkey in the Balkans. Cooperation can be made in the sectors of maritime, energy, mining, banking, fishery and transportation," he said.

Turkish State Minister Zafer Çağlayan said that trade volume between the two countries was 350 million euro and the two countries should make good use of opportunities to boost bilateral trade volume.
