Turkey’s flagship carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced it will begin direct flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Dakar, Senegal, by March 28, 2010. The flights will operate three times in a week.
In a written statement THY said its flights to these cities, which began March 29 of this year as a multi-leg flight, will operate as separate direct flights next year. Currently, an aircraft that takes off from İstanbul first flies to Dakar before flying on to Sao Paulo. Similarly, THY planes taking off from Sao Paulo fly to İstanbul by way of Dakar. THY’s flights to these destinations currently operate three times a week.
