Kazım discharged from hospital after car crash

Turkey and Fenerbahçe winger Kazım Kazım was discharged from the Kadıköy Acıbadem Hospital on Monday where he underwent treatment for a fractured wrist he suffered during in a car accident while on his way to the Can Bartu facilities for training on Sunday.

Fener club doctor Ertuğrul Karanlık said the player is in good condition, adding that he will continue to undergo treatment. Kazım lost control of his vehicle in heavy rain on Sunday and was helped out of the wreckage by firemen and other people at the scene of the accident. He was immediately rushed to Paşabahçe State Hospital and later taken to Kadıköy Acıbadem Hospital where he underwent surgery. Dr. Ufuk Nalbantoğlu, who performed the operation, said the player’s life was not in danger.

Fenerbahçe sports director Aykut Kocaman and administrative director Hasan Çetinkaya went to the hospital and were briefed on the player’s condition. The accident occurred days after Kazım was banned for four matches for swearing at an assistant referee during Fenerbahçe’s 3-0 derby defeat by Beşiktaş in week 13. Kazım got a direct red in the 75th minute.
