In addition to bilateral relations, recent regional and international developments will be on the agenda of talks during the visit, Gül’s office said on Monday in an announcement, noting that the talks were also expected to focus on improving economic and commercial relations between the two countries. Ankara believes that the visit will contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between Jordan and Turkey, the announcement also said.
Efforts to ensure the resumption of peace negotiations between Israel and its Arab neighbors will also be discussed, Jordan announced last week. During the visit, the countries will sign a free trade agreement (FTA) to attract more investments to both countries and remove trade barriers. Scores of businessmen are also expected to accompany the president during his visit. In addition to attempts to improve trade relations, Turkey will also announce the removal of visa requirements between the two countries based on an informal agreement.
