Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and State Minister for Women and Family Selma Aliye Kavaf will take part at the summit, which will also host ministers, other officials and academicians from 105 countries through Spain to Angola. The World Family Summit 5, encompassing with the decision of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) to work for the year 2010, the current global and national trends and challenges and their impacts on gender equality and empowerment of women, will discuss how countries, governments, politicians, judicial systems and civil society are approaching the issue, the ministry said in a statement.
A declaration that will reflect the reality of the 21st century regarding gender equality and women's empowerment is expected to be released at the summit, the statement concluded.
