Market-day traffic accident claims 8, injures 14
27 November 2009 / TAYFUN DEMIR, MARDIN
Eight people died and 14 were injured in a traffic accident in Mardin’s Midyat district after their minibus left the shoulder of a road. The minibus was heading from Üçağıl village to the Midyat district center, where the passengers were planning to do some Eid al-Adha shopping.
Six people were pronounced dead at the scene. Ambulances, gendarmes and police arrived at the scene soon after the accident, and the injured were taken to Midyat State Hospital.
