The ranking, covering 500 of the fastest growing public and private technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and green technology companies from 26 countries in the EMEA region, is based on the companies’ five-year revenue growth.
With a five-year growth rate of 42,417 percent and revenue of 37.4 million euros in 2008, Biotekno, a mobile business integrator, ranked first in the list. Millenicom, operating in telecommunication and networking, was put in second place in the ranking with its 39,484 percent growth rate in revenue over the last five years. Another Turkish telecommunications firm, Cetech, ranked 10th with an 8,193 percent growth rate in its five-year revenue.
The statement released by Deloitte announced that Turkey climbed up the list with 10 more ranked companies this year compared to 2008. The list has a total of 30 companies from Turkey. Biotekno and Millenicom are also their sector winners, software and telecommunications/networking, respectively.
Deloitte Turkey Technology, Media and Telecommunication Industry head Oktay Aktolun, assessing the rankings, said this result will encourage Turkish technology firms and boost the Turkish technology sector’s popularity abroad.
