Akşam: In its main story yesterday, the daily reported on a survey conducted by pollster Adil Gür about the public’s support for the government’s Kurdish initiative, which aims to resolve Turkey’s Kurdish problem. Gür’s survey revealed that initial support for the initiative, which was 69.3 percent before the festive celebrations in the Southeast to welcome a group of outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists who surrendered to security forces in October, fell to 31.1 percent. The region that opposes the initiative most is the Aegean region with 70.5 percent, the survey revealed.

Taraf: “Bad memories erased,” said the daily in the headline of a front-page article yesterday, saying Turkey abolished visa requirements with Libya 13 years after an eventful visit paid by former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was on a visit to Libya on Tuesday along with businessmen, was welcomed by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in his palace. Trade agreements with a value of $200 million were signed between the two countries during the visit.
