Samsunspor hits Erciyes for five

23 November 2009 / TODAY’S ZAMAN, İSTANBUL
Black Sea side Samsunspor showed host Kayseri Erciyesspor no mercy, beating the struggling team 5-1 in their Bank Asya League 1 week 13 match at the Atatürk Spor Kompleksi Dış Saha Stadium in Kayseri.
And the victory was made all the sweeter because Samsunspor played with 10 men for almost 60 minutes after midfielder İlhan Ummak was sent off by referee Erbay Aldemir for a second bookable offense in the 42nd minute for a vicious and deliberate foul on Erciyesspor midfielder Mehmet Al. But that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the determined Samsunspor, which scored four second half goals for a resounding victory. Forward Doğan Şahin Turgut opened the scoring for Samsunspor in the 11th minute, but Ersoy Yılmaz equalized for Erciyesspor two minutes later. However second half goals from defender Can Ulun (52nd), striker Burhan Coşkun (81st), Turgut again in the 85th and 88th gave Samsunspor a well-deserved victory.
