The killer swine flu does not discriminate, infecting young and old, rich and poor, male and female, black and white -- and even soccer players.
Almost the entire third division Mardinspor team has been knocked out by the H1N1 virus and is down for the count.

On Monday, eight Mardinspor players were diagnosed with H1N1 and were being kept under close surveillance.

On Tuesday, six other players, as well as coach Şekip Elik, were also diagnosed with swine flu and were immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The eight players bedridden on Monday, the six on Tuesday -- Menderes Korkmaz, Nedim Köseoğlu, Mehmet Balcı, Arif Çalbay, Özkan Bilgiç and Erkan Öztürk -- and the team coach have been quarantined to curb the spread of the virus.
