Boiler explosion kills one in Diyarbakır

A boiler room explosion yesterday at the district governor’s office in the town of Silvan in the eastern province of Diyarbakır killed one person and injured 25.
Officials said one person was killed and 25 people were injured in the explosion, which happened in the boiler room of the building. As of last night, investigators had not determined the cause of the explosion.
The injured were taken to the Silvan State Hospital, where two of them were reportedly in serious condition. The explosion caused damage to the building and to several nearby buildings. A fire broke out following the explosion and was extinguished by fire brigade teams from the Silvan Municipality.
