Rumors of 2nd missing Erzurum child turn out to be false

Scattered news reports alleging that a second elementary school student had gone missing in Erzurum are false, the Erzurum Governor’s Office has said.
Following the emergence of last week’s kidnapping and murder of 13-year-old Musa Kang in Erzurum, some news agencies reported yesterday that a second elementary schooler had gone missing in the eastern province. According to a written statement released by the governor’s office, Miraç Akdağ, a fourth-grader at Haşim İşcan Elementary School, has not been kidnapped or lost. News stories saying that the boy had gone missing and that his parents had notified the police are not true. The boy is safe and sound at a relative’s home, the statement said.
