Controversial military prosecutor Üçok demoted

Air Forces Judicial Undersecretary Col. Ahmet Zeki Üçok, arrested in September for reportedly issuing false medical reports to celebrities to help them evade compulsory military service, has been demoted from his post.
The decision to reassign Üçok along with many other Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) officers was published in the Official Gazette yesterday. He has been reappointed a discipline officer. Üçok was previously one of the military prosecutors conducting an investigation into secret meeting places of officers and War Academy cadets known as command centers or Karargah houses.
Üçok is also facing an investigation over allegations that he violated the Code on Criminal Procedure (CMK) by using “hypnosis and drugs” during the interrogation of noncommissioned officers in Kayseri in 2008.
