Patient dies in ambulance accident

An ambulance carrying a patient from Esenyurt to Yedikule Chest Diseases Hospital at around midnight on Sunday was involved in a car accident, leaving the patient dead.
The ambulance collided with a car driven by Yunus Emre Turhal, 20, at a traffic light in İstanbul’s Zeytinburnu district. The patient in the ambulance, Hasibe Saydam, 55, died at the scene while two paramedics and two people in the car were wounded. After the accident, other drivers took the two paramedics to the hospital while another ambulance arriving at the scene transported the remaining accident victims. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate Saydam to no avail. Shocked by the accident, the ambulance driver was comforted by his friends. The accident also shocked the relatives of Saydam, who suffered from asthma.
