Kırmızıgül’s ‘I Saw the Sun’ running for Cairo prize

“Güneşi Gördüm” (I Saw the Sun), singer-turned-filmmaker Mahsun Kırmızıgül’s second directing effort, is running for the big prize at this year’s Cairo International Film Festival, which is marking its 33rd edition from Nov. 10-20.
“I Saw the Sun,” which is also in contention to become a nominee at next year’s Oscars in the best foreign language film category, is running against 16 other entrants in the Cairo festival’s international competition.
