Authorities are searching for an assistant manager at a bank in Hatay’s İskenderun district who allegedly embezzled TL 19.5 million from the branch where she worked, reports said on Friday.
According to reports, an audit of a bank branch in İskenderun revealed in its initial findings that TL 19.5 million was missing. The investigation into the matter is now being conducted with the cooperation of the İskenderun state prosecutor and local security forces. The assistant manager and prime suspect, S.C., has reportedly not showed up to work since Oct. 30 and has not been seen at or around the home where she resided with her mother and father. Authorities are searching for her and have detained bank manager E.Y. and assistant manager M.S. As they have not been able to locate S.C., security forces have extended the detention of the other two, retaking their statements and preparing to send them to a court for processing.
