Diyarbakırspor and the spirit of sport

It cannot be real; it must be a dream, the announcement that Diyarbakırspor will not appear in the scheduled match against Galatasaray, set to take place on the Diyarbakır field.
The club president made this decision in the wake of the behavior shown to his team in other matches. But not appearing on the field, or not playing in a match, are both against the spirit of sport. What true athletes must do in the face of adversity is not to avoid and escape it by not appearing but instead to face the adversity, to fight it and to try to overcome it on the field, in the stands and across the country.
