FESTIVALS The İstanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival runs until Tuesday in its first edition. For the full program, check the festival's Web site: www.itef.com.tr/en
 The 10th İzmir International Short Film Festival will take place Nov. 3-8 at the İzmir Turkish-American Association in Alsancak and at Yaşar University's Selçuk Yaşar campus in Bornova.

 The MedJazz Mediterranean Jazz Festival will tour four Turkish cities on Nov. 3-15, featuring 24 live performances by six bands. The festival is scheduled for Nov. 3-4 at İstanbul's Yıldız Technical University, Nov. 7-8 at Ankara's Middle East Technical University, Nov. 9-11 at Mersin University and Nov. 13-15 at Denzili's Pamukkale University.

 Pianist Ilya Rachkovsky will perform the opening concert of Piano Days at İstanbul's Akbank Art Center on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. Ticket price: TL 10

EXHIBITIONS

 Today is the final day to see the exhibition “Joseph Beuys and His Students: Works from the Deutsche Bank Collection” at İstanbul's Sakıp Sabancı Museum in Emirgan.

 In the 11th International İstanbul Biennial, which runs through Nov. 8, works of art by around 70 artists are on display at the old customs warehouse, Antrepo No. 3 in Karaköy, the old tobacco warehouse in Tophane and the Feriköy Greek School in Şişli. Tickets can be purchased at www.biletix.com.

 US-based Romanian artist Serge Spitzer's installation titled “Molecular İstanbul” is on view at the Mayor Synagogue in İstanbul's Hasköy district on the Golden Horn through Nov. 11.

 “Site,” an exhibition of installations by Turkish-born Armenian conceptual artist Sarkis Zabunyan, runs through Jan. 10 at İstanbul Modern.

 The exhibition “Chagall: Life and Love” runs until Jan. 24 at İstanbul's Pera Museum, featuring a 160-piece collection of drawings, prints and paintings by the 20th century master. The museum is closed on Mondays.

 A retrospective of Paris-based Turkish artist Yüksel Arslan's work is on view at Santralİstanbul contemporary art center until March, offering more than 500 pieces by the artist.

FILM SCREENINGS

 Boğaziçi University's Mithat Alam Film Center (MAFM) offers a program called New Turkish Documentaries from Oct. 26 to Nov. 5. For more information, visit the MAFM Web site at www.mafm.boun.edu.tr.

 The Ankara Cinematheque Society screens arthouse and classic films in admission-free showings every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as part of its weekly program, which runs throughout the year at the society's headquarters, located on Büklüm Sokak, No: 16 in Kavaklıdere.

 A selection of 22 films by German directors is offered in a weekly film program that runs through December at the Goethe Institute in İstanbul. Admission is free of charge. Showings take place each Friday at 7 p.m.

PERFORMING ARTS

 Two famous stage actors, Turkey's Ferhan Şensoy and France's François Marthouret, will read excerpts in both Turkish and French from French author Olivier Rolin's 2006 novel “Rooms” in a literary event called “Textes & Voix” (Texts and Voice) scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at the French Culture Center in Taksim.

 “Singin' in the Rain,” Britain's UK Productions' new musical based on the 1952 film starring Gene Kelly, will have eight performances in İstanbul on Nov. 3-8 at the Türker İnanoğlu Maslak (TİM) Show Center.
