The Professional Soccer Disciplinary Committee (PFDK) announced on Thursday that the Fenerbahçe Canaries would play their next two home games behind closed doors due to incidents caused by Canaries’ fans during the match against the Galatasaray Lions at Fenerbahçe’s Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Fabio Bilica of Fenerbahçe and Abdul Kader Keita of Galatasaray were also suspended for three matches each.

The Galatasaray club also got their share of punishment, a TL 15,000 fine, for failing to control their boisterous fans. The club was also given a TL 5,000 fine for lack of participation by its players in a press meeting.

Meanwhile, İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor was also hit by penalties due to incidents that occurred in its match against Bursaspor. While İbrahim Akın was suspended for three matches for insulting the referee, Okan Buruk was given a four-game suspension, and trainer Arif Erdem was banned from entering the players’ bench and dressing room in two official matches due to his unsportsmanlike behavior.
