Septuagenarian couple attacked in their home

A 75-year-old man has been killed and his 70-year-old wife critically injured in a brutal knife attack during a home invasion in Diyarbakır’s Ergani district, the Anatolia news agency reported yesterday.
The identity of the attacker who targeted the couple is not yet known. Kemal Balsak was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife, Hatun Balsak, was rushed to Ergani State Hospital before being transferred to Diyarbakır’s Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital, which is better equipped to treat her. Balsak has been unable to identify her attacker, but she has reported that he was a short man.
