We were not persuaded by Baykal

30 October 2009 / STAR ERGUN BABAHAN,
If we take a quick glance at the situation, we see that the military took a certain position on the matter, that the Republican People’s Party (CHP) stance within Parliament is shaped in response to this and that if this gets no results, it goes straight to the Constitutional Court.
A coordinated system of cooperation that resembles the Bermuda Triangle is quite open and clear for everyone to see, which is why the CHP’s statements that their politics are not carried out hand in hand with the military are not at all convincing to us. And this, in turn, is the biggest dead end in Turkish politics: that the main opposition party continues to believe that it can block the ruling administration not at the ballot boxes but through cooperation with the military.
