One of the actors working on the film died suddenly, while another has been seriously injured, and the lead actress lost her leg in an accident. Filming for the movie, which is being produced with the support of Alanya’s Oba Municipality and the Azdeniz Cinema Lovers Association, began one week ago. The film is directed by Serhat Arvas and tells the story of five young people who must outmaneuver five outlaws.Shortly before filming was slated to begin, Çiğdem Yüce, a model who had been cast to play the leading female role in the movie, was injured in a traffic accident with her fiancé and lost her leg. Yüce is still receiving treatment at a hospital. Three days into shooting, the actor portraying the movie’s villain, Sefa Çorbacı, was in a serious motorbike accident. He underwent treatment at Alanya State Hospital.
Sedat Şahiner, an extra, died at Alanya State Hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage during filming. Şahiner was the founder of a weekly local magazine, Cebeli Reis. In addition, lightning struck right next to the cast and crew as they filmed a torture scene. Shortly thereafter, it began to rain as the moviemakers fled the scene.
Akdeniz Cinema Lovers Foundation head Zeki Demir, who is also an actor in the movie, said that the unfortunate incidents had made the cast uneasy. “The actors have begun to think, ‘Who’s next? Are these incidents coincidences or not?’” he said, adding that everyone involved still wants to complete the movie. “Some have asked us to stop filming, but we want to complete the movie despite all these unpleasant incidents,” he noted.
