Mythological love story onstage at Süreyya Opera

The İstanbul State Opera is staging its new production of Christoph Willibald Gluck's 18th century opera "Orpheus and Eurydice" in three performances this week at the Süreyya Opera House in Kadıköy.
The opera in three acts, based on the myth of Orpheus, is directed by Recep Ayyılmaz in its İstanbul production, which opened Wednesday. The remaining two performances this month are scheduled for Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
