Bus runs over car, killing 4 in İzmir

Four people were killed on Sunday when a municipal bus ran over a car in İzmir's Konak district. The accident occurred at an İzmir intersection when a municipal bus, driven by Tevfik Yeşil (30), ran over a car. The driver of the car has not yet been identified.
The car was totaled in the accident, and its four passengers were trapped inside. Ambulances were called to the scene soon after the crash. While two of the car's occupants, Mehmet Karademir (18) and Görkem Güzey (19), were pronounced dead at the scene, Namık Kemal Şentürk (20) died at Tepecik Research and Teaching Hospital and Cemre Kaya (17) died at Ege University Hospital after receiving emergency treatment. Yeşil was detained after the accident and taken to a police station, where he said the car had run a red light. An investigation has been opened into the accident.
