Three exhibitions have been opened in Paris's Louvre Museum as part of the activities for Season of Turkey in France.
The opening ceremony for the exhibitions was attended by a large number of guests including Turkish Ambassador to France Osman Korutürk, Louvre Director Henri Loyrette and the director of Topkapı Palace, İlber Ortaylı. In the first exhibition, robes and clothes of Ottoman sultans brought from Topkapı Palace as well as samples of clothing from 1299 to 1922 are displayed, while archeological pieces found in excavations conducted in Kadifekale in İzmir and pieces from the collection of the Louvre Museum are showcased in the second exhibition. Historical items found in excavations conducted in Alacahöyük in Çorum are on view in the third exhibition. The exhibitions will be open through Jan. 19, 2010.
