Turkey and Iran should boost cooperation, Iranian executive

25 October 2009 / THE ANATOLIA NEWS AGENCY, TEHRAN
Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said on Sunday that Iran considered boosting of bilateral cooperation with Turkey as "essential in today's conditions".

"Annual trade volume between Turkey and Iran has a capacity to exceed 20 billion USD," Rahimi said in his meeting with Turkey's Ambassador in Tehran Selim Karaosmanoğlu.

Rahimi described relations between Turkish and Iranian people as "historical and friendly" and noted that bilateral visits assisted boosting of actual cooperation.

Rahimi said energy, natural gas, oil, trade and investment were some important areas to foster cooperation.
