Death toll reaches 6 in Elazığ wedding convoy accident

Several cars in a wedding convoy collided with an intercity bus at the turnoff to Baskil village, killing six people and injuring around 60 late Sunday night, Elazığ Police Chief Fahrettin Coşkun has announced. The vehicle carrying the bride and groom collided with the bus, provoking a chain reaction crash that involved three other cars from the wedding convoy.
Officials said the bride and groom suffered no injuries. Four people died at the scene, and two others later succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to area hospitals. Coşkun said the cause of the accident was not immediately known. Officials said an investigation of the accident is ongoing.
